Volunteer at HISD
Volunteer at Wharton Dual Language Academy
At Wharton Dual Language Academy, parent and community volunteers are an essential part of our school’s success. Your time, energy, and support help create a positive and enriching environment for students, teachers, and families. Whether you can volunteer regularly or every now and then, every bit of help makes a difference!
Why Volunteers Matter
Volunteers bring our school community to life! From helping at events to supporting teachers and students, volunteers:
-
Strengthen the connection between home and school
-
Help enrich our programs and campus culture
-
Provide valuable support during school events and activities
-
Foster a welcoming, caring environment for all
We’ll be inviting families to support in a variety of ways throughout the year, including:
-
Field trip chaperones
-
Helping with school-wide events and celebrations
-
Assisting with classroom activities, campus projects, and more
How to Become a Volunteer
Wharton follows Houston ISD’s official volunteer registration process to ensure the safety and security of all students. To volunteer on campus or during school events, all adults must:
-
Register through the VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) Program on the HISD website:
Complete a background check – This process can take 2–3 weeks, so we recommend applying early.
-
Bring a valid photo ID to the front office once your registration is approved.
Stay Tuned!
We’ll be sharing upcoming volunteer opportunities and sign-up links throughout the year. Check back here often and stay connected through your PTO account and school communications.
Together, we make Wharton a vibrant, caring community for all Eagles!
