Annual School Programs at Wharton Dual Language Academy

At Wharton Dual Language Academy, we believe in nurturing the whole child through rich academic experiences and meaningful cultural celebrations. Our annual school programs bring our community together and allow students to express themselves, build confidence, and celebrate their learning and heritage.

Winter Program (PK – 2nd Grade)
Our youngest learners in Pre-K through 2nd grade take center stage during our annual Winter Program, sharing festive songs, poetry, and performances that highlight creativity, joy, and holiday spirit. This heartwarming event is a favorite among families and showcases the talents of our early childhood and primary students.

Hispanic Heritage Program (PK – 2nd Grade)
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, students in PK through 2nd grade honor the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic communities through music, dance, art, and storytelling. This vibrant event reflects our school’s commitment to bilingualism and cultural pride.

Black History Program (3rd – 8th Grade)
Our 3rd through 8th grade students lead us in honoring Black History Month through powerful performances, student-led reflections, poetry, and tributes that uplift African American voices, leaders, and contributions. This program deepens cultural awareness and promotes respect, unity, and student voice.

Prose & Poetry Competition (PK – 8th Grade)
Open to all grade levels, this annual Prose and Poetry Competition invites students to express themselves through spoken word, creative writing, and recitation. Participants gain confidence as they share original pieces or perform selected works in front of their peers and families, celebrating language, expression, and imagination.

Promotion Ceremonies (5th & 8th Grade)
Our Promotion Ceremonies honor the achievements of our 5th and 8th grade students as they transition to the next chapter of their educational journey. These milestone events recognize academic growth, personal development, and the strong community bonds built at Wharton.

These school-wide events reflect our IB philosophy and dual language mission by affirming student voice, celebrating diversity, and building a strong sense of belonging. We invite all families to attend and celebrate with us throughout the year!
